FD 1 8/10
Not only the best in the franchise, but one of the best horror movies of the 2000's decade. A very suspenseful film, especially since every victim is likable or at least sympathetic. I never get tired of watching this movie.
FD 2 7/10
Not better than the original, but a very worthy follow up. The deaths are gorier, but still realistic for the most part. Also, I like that this is one of the few slashers where every character has a different background and age, instead of just teenagers. It also has (arguably) the happiest ending in the series.
FD 3 4/10
This is when the movies start to become exaggerated, repetitive, and just an excuse to show gore and bad taste (the Lincoln and 9/11 references). It adds nothing new to the story, most of the survivors are unlikeable, and there is almost no plot (almost literally since we all know about Frankie's camera).
Also, this is the first time that the survivors doesn't seem to care that other people are dying or that they could also die soon.
With that being said, it isn't a complete waste of time.
TFD 2/10
Wow, this looks like it was made by Ed Wood. Terrible acting, terrible special effects, and a nonsensical plot. The characters are either terrible persons, or we don't know them at all.
FD 5 6/10
A giant step forward from the previous two movies. The deaths are slightly more realistic and we don't have an unofficial remake this time, given that there are returning characters. It also plays with the formula of this series (hint: Death isn't the only killer in this movie).
I must add, unlike TFD it has great 3D effects.
Not a great movie, but very worthy of your time.
