Costello’s graduation gift to Sullivan, what do you imagine was in the box? There’s something more to this scene, it’s NOT just a gift.

I know this sounds extreme but hear me out. Watch Sullivan’s expression when he opens the box, it’s a nervous smirk before he shows any appreciation.
I think the box contained two things, a financial endowment of some sort along with an item/s representing control and fear.

Like a $200,000 dollar Rolex wrapped around someone’s scrotum or a large sum of rolled cash nestled around someone’s scrotum.

There’s something about this scene that always catches my attention and makes me feel uneasy, yes Frank is giving Sullivan a gift but he’s also letting Sullivan know that he owns him now and there’s no going back.

Thoughts? What do y’all think was in the box?

I think it’s just a watch. Sullivan is just blown away by the luxury of it.

Could very well be, thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Bruce Jenner's severed penis.

Seriously tho, I also think it's an expensive Rolex.

Hahahahahahhaha!

Probably so on just a watch.
I just get this creeped out vibe from the scene.

I think Costello must've been paying Sullivan money regularly, so don't think it was a wad of cash. How else could Colin afford that apartment on his salary? Besides, if it was cash, that would be an odd container to gift it in.

It could've been an expensive bracelet, but that would be pretty gay for 2 guys like this. I can't think of anything other than an expensive watch.

You could also make the case that it was some retrieved family heirloom of Sullivan's that he'd lost, like his father's watch that had sentimental value to him, but Costello didn't seem like the caring type who'd go to such lengths to reward one of his lackeys.

Good points.

The burner cell phone he would use to stay in contact with him?
