What the crap happened here ....

I love Bettie Page, I have many of her film collections, books etc. and while Paige Richards does a fair job of passing as Bettie Page in looks, the child couldn't act her way out of a wet paper sack. I really wanted to like this film, not just because I ponied up nearly $20 for the 2 disc collectors set but I like Bettie. Now I know it was made for only $50K but at least try to act a little, I've seen better high school plays. If this was a bio pic it lacked a lot of bio while it had a little pic. I think they really could have done better even on a skimpy budget. What do you think?

four years later, but I am in agreement. Paige Richards makes a passable Bettie in looks only. Acting is not her forte. I was so disappointed in this movie. It was like a bad soap opera or something.

It's an attempt to cash in on the Betty gravy train, by people from the fetish world. Paige Richards and Julie Simone were bondage models (and Simone was a rigger/director). It was largely being sold to the fetish community, which has a big crossover with the Betty fans. It was big budget for a fetish film, low budget for Hollywood.

Fortunately, Ah keep mah feathers numbered for just such an emergency!

Damn 17 year old post must have been made on a Commodore 64.

Shows you that it's probably better to prioritize acting over looks when doing a biopic like this.

Gretchen Mol didn't look a lot like Page, but once they gave her the iconic Page hairstyle I could believe her in the roll. She's a pretty good actress.
