totally agree big career mistake,, but oddly Kindergarten Cop, and Jingle all the Way didn't ruin Schwarzenneger's career, so I guess that the jury is still out on this one.

If you mean a career mistake by ruining his image then maybe but it did at least make twice it's budget so I'm sure nobody was displeased. Diesel's not that bad of an actor but besides the Fast and Furious movies his other films all bomb pretty bad.
sharei didn't see it but i don't think vin diesel made enough classic movies by this time, such as arnold schwarzenegger did before choosing to make a family type film such as this.

shareSo he's been in several franchises now. TFATF being the one with most installments. But his Riddick franchise proceeded The Fast And The Furious by one year. Great Sci-Fi action franchise with the first movie having Sci-Fi action horror as well. I'll watch these movies any day over The Fast And Furious.
