Have to confess my disappointment

I bought this film on DVD, expecting to really enjoy it. It had some nice scenes, but in the end I came away disappointed.

My problem was that the fight scenes were too dependent on fly-by-wire and other effects, which often fail to impress me. In Crouching Tiger and Hero the story-line and sumptuous camera work more than made up for this. In general, though, I prefer martial arts films which rely on careful choreography and the skill of the performers.

For kung fu humour, give me Project A or Mr. Vampire any day.

This movie plays a lot in star movies and while changing channels if we find it playing, we stick to it always. I cant remember how many times i have seen it and we can see any part of the movie anytime and its funny and entertaining. So, just a lot enjoyable to us. :)

So, you like the fake stuff to look more real?

Then why purposely watch a Kung Fu parody film that's purposely made to be like a live action anime or cartoon? It's like watching a black and white film and complaining you never liked nor will ever appreciate b/w films.
