Is Cate Blanchett supposed to be hot?

Cate Blanchett is attractive in other films but just so-so in this movie, yet the film tries to emphasize her “hotness” a bit too much as if we the audience are supposed to be focused on her good looks.

I think she was supposed to be a femme fatale out of fifties pulp fiction, scarier than hot.

Are you kidding? She's extremely hot in this otherwise mediocre, overlong film. Only reason to watch it, in my opinion.
