Freddy's comment racict?

does anyone think Freddy's comment, "Mmmm dark meat!" to Kia Waterson (played by Kelly Rowland) is racist? something i always wondered...

I remember seeing this in theaters and that part got a huge laugh by everyone in the theater. Really makes me realize how fast things really have changed since 2003, at least in regards to stuff we can laugh at or say in movies since then. I can just imagine the reaction it would get today with all todays oversensitive PC f_ck faces squirming in the seats at the smallest hint of something slightly off-color. Child murdering pedo rapist? Yeah sure, ok fine. But making tongue-in-cheek vaguely racist wisecracks??? NOW YOU'VE GONE TOO FAR, FREDDY KRUEGER!!!!

You can't call people racist if you can't even spell racist.

reply

Quite right.

People with poor spelling should never take a stand against racist behaviour, or prejudice of any kind.

Dark meat is NOT racist lol. Freddy never said the N word. Never new saying Dark meat was racist lol.

It would have been racist if Freddy had decided to ignore her and keep going after the white kids. I don't think he's killed any black kids since ANOES 4.

Seriously, Freddy hates everyone.

Thit and thpin!

Yeah it was a bit racist, but that was kind of the point. Freddy Krueger is one of the most evil and demented characters ever created. Honestly, compared to most of his evil deeds, a moderately racist joke is one of the least evil things he's done.

He's probably referring to her skin colour. This thread exists because of her skin colour. So this thread is racist. Anyone who knows she's black is racist.

I refuse to know that she's black because I'm not a racist. Therefore I don't understand what anyone's talking about in this thread.

Frankly I don't like that people get offended at me for using the term black person. I am white and refer to other people of my race as white all the time. I don't think saying black person should be considered offensive. If a criminal mugs me and happens to be black I will say they were black. I frankly don't like the term African American since it makes it sound like they were born in Africa and then later became citizens of America. Yes. The ancestors of black people in America were from Africa and were brought here to be slaves to the white men in America back in the 1800s. Yes they weren't given the same rights as white until the equal rights amendment of 1965. But that wrong was righted then.

A lot of black people here in America were born here in America so therefore they are Americans. They didn't grow up in Africa. Why should their heritage be that of a country a lot of them have never been to? Just because 200 years ago their ancestors were kidnapped from there to be sold as slaves here? That's ludicrous. The ancestors of white people in this country are all descendants of people from Europe.

I have friends who are black and they don't really care about being called black as long as you don't say something really racist. Like if I say, "There was some black girl who was mean to me today at work today." that doesn't mean I hate her for being black. It just means she is a black person and happened to be mean to me. I've met just as many people of my race who were mean to me. There was a white guy in my freshman year of highschool who said in front of everyone that I was gay and in a really vulgar way I am not going to repeat. He was a mean jerk and he happened to be the same race as me. People can be mean regardless of race. But whatever. If you think black is an offensive term not much I say is going to persuade you anyway.
