Macaulay Culkin's acting.

What did everyone think of Culkin's acting in Party Monster?

reply

to be totally honest I'm not sure whether it was just his voice or it was the sound quality but something struck me as slightly stale about the acting in this movie but perhaps that's actually how all the club kids acted.

there's a documentary called Party Monster also where Alig is interviewed. You get a sense of his mannerisms in those interviews.

I think, to get a sense of Mac's acting you should watch the documentary after the movie. at first i thought Mac's acting was weak, but after watching the documentary it made more sense why he acted that way....

i thought macuaulay and seth both did fabulous jobs. from the interviews i've seen of alig, macualay did a good job.

Absolutly terrible. Hes a child star. This was terrible and so was saved. He needs to take his millions of dollars and just spend the rest of his life living off interest. away from the rest of us, so we never have to see him act again.

Anyone who's actually met Michael care to comment?

I thought his acting was great...it took me a while at first to get used to it, because it seemed over-played...but then i realized that that was the character he was playing...a drama queen with the gay lisp and all...which is so adorable that you have to like the entire movie just cause of that...and Seth Green was great too...they all were...in my opnion anyway.

He did a good job with Alig. Having DJ'd at the limelight while they were there, and seeing the real guy up close, I'd say he did a pretty good job. I'm reading that many people here thought he was over the top, but that was Alig. Green was also quite good as well.

You know, at first, i thought his acting was weak and too over...something. But then, i watched the movie again and again and again, i saw some stuff with the real Michael Alig, and now i think his acting was brilliant. I mean, his character, Michael, was supposed to be like that. And i mean, i know a lot of gay people or drag queens that talk that way. they're overacting on purpose. GLAM people are doing this, they jut enjoy it. So, seriously, i thought in the beginning that his acting wasn't good, but now i think his acting was brilliant! I can't imagine the movie being with someone else. He's totally perfect for this role...he's got this sensitivity, this energy and childish-ness that was just perfect for this role!!!! Oh, i love him in this movie!!!!

I'm pretty much like everyone else. I loved Seth Green's role. I think Culkin did a good job, but there was just something about how Seth Green played James that was awesome.
