Other movies like City of God?

This is by far my favorite movie of all time and I've seen it 5+ times! I am looking for other movies like it.

So far I have seen City of Men and Elite Squad (plus its sequel)

Any suggestions?

Check out Gangs of Wasseypur. Both have pretty similar theme and feel.

Surprised no one's mentioned this yet, but Boyz n the Hood feels a lot like its Western counterpart. It doesn't quite cover crime in such an epic scope, but like this film, it's about growing up in a violent, crime-ridden environment (in this case, South Central LA) and how it influences the youth. Great movie, just be sure to expect more coming-of-age drama as opposed to crime drama.
