I'm a "side sitter". Am I a creep?

Enjoyed the second episode of season 10. One of the featured bits was side sitting. The suggestion that siting on the side of square table, rather than across, suggests intimacy. I don't like to stare at people. I don't want people staring at me while I eat. It's weird. Love the side sit. Love to have more relaxed conversation. It really is less formal. But now I wonder. Have I been an assuming creep all these years? If i'm eating out with you, I already consider you a friend. Friend material at the least.

I hate sitting with my back to the room, or sitting directly opposite someone, so side sitting is a valid strategy.

Damn waiter is always popping up behind you. You gotta turn around to look at the person your guest is making fun of. It's a real hassle.

side sitting is the best.

To me, this is kinda hypothetical, as I HATE eating when anyone can see me or if people are around, and I ABSOLUTELY abhor having to watch someone CHEW. Why do people eat together, I never understand. Why can't it be a private function, you just shove nourishmental piles of matter into an orifice of your body, is this really a social situation, is this really something people need to watch?

However, imagining a situation where I would, for some reason, accept an invitation to 'group-based orifice-shoving', I would definitely either sit with my back against the wall, or I would not go. Those are the only options, I am not gonna sit in a bad Feng Shui just because someone has some kind of opinion about sitting.
