I disagree with a lot of the hate this movie got.

I will admit I really love this movie. Sure, The Dark Knight and X-Men: First Class are better movies, but I still had a lot of fun with this movie.

I do believe this movie has gotten more hate than it deserves. Nicholas Cage is in my opinion the most unappreciated actor in Hollywood. I really think that guy has some talent.

This movie was supposed to be entertaining, and it is to me every time I watch it.

Since I haven't read the comics, I can't say how well it follows it, but I will say that I love the idea for the movie.

If you disagree with me, go right ahead and say you do, but I still disagree with all the hate this movie got.

Well, I respectfully disagree with you. I think most of the movies he's in are great.

This is my ultimate guilty pleasure movie. Sure, its terrible, but its so bad that its kind of entertaining. Yes, the visual effects are bad, but I was entertained.

I dont see where all the hate is coming from, but each to their own i guess!

Astonishingly weird that you mention two other comic book movies that have restarted franchises with new writers/directors/actors when this film you say is good is being restarted in a similar fashion. Really weird.

I saw that film for the first time yesterday. And i really have to say it has entertainment value, but thats it. The action scenes do suck because they are short and the whole set up of the film is kinda dumb, suddenly he can save the world from the near apocalypse? and by the way what kind of apocalypse was that? But its OK!

I agree with you about Cage, idk about MOST unappreciated, but he really better than people give him credit for. for example, i recently watched the trailer for Trespass and it looks promising...i think some of the problem is he gets typecast, most of his films have a supernatural element along with an element of comedy or at least one of the two. which isn't bad, but it probably makes it hard for an audience to take him seriously...idk...check out the trailer for yourself: http://bitly.com/o7TwhG

Cage is just one of those actors that loves what they do regardless of the movies quality. Even if it is good or bad, it can't stop Cage from enjoying it.

Cage takes all these terrible roles because he was/is in debt. He frivolously spent money, lost it, and now has to take the worst roles ever to pay off his debts.

reply

i love it when multi millionaires spend all the money so they have to make lots of movie(i.e. actually work) to pay of debts xD

but i think youre right that he had debt etc. + he is probably like michael caine in that he takes alot of roles that he likes

I actually loved this movie, too! i love alot of his more recent movies, like Sorcerer's Apprentice and the National Treasure movies. i've also never read the comics, any comics for that matter, but if they were available, after watching this i would go and read some. and i love how haters say "i could've done it better" and "if i'd been directing, the SFX would've been so much better" yet they don't have the guts to go and try to make it in hollywood. and i loved the chemistry between eva and nic.....they were really cute together! and nic and sam elliot were funny.......i got the sense that they're jokesters together off-screen. of course, who doesn't love sam elliot to begin with...? so to all you haters, i salute you (with a finger) and i'm gonna go watch it again! :D

Wolverine: Hey hey, it's me.
Cyclops: Prove it.
Wolverine: You're a dick.
Cyclops: Ok.

i agree it was entertaining if you are not too critical.

I disagree with your disagreeing.

Yeah, it's intentionally trashy, and has fun with that . When I watched it, I was reminded of old b-movies that people fondly remember but aren't really that good. Especially since the early scenes had soap-style actors playing the leads. At least this one had a nice bike, some action and Peter Fonda and Sam Elliot.

I agree. It's also like some of those old Elvis Presley movies. They weren't really good but they entertained you for an hour and a half.
