I disagree with a lot of the hate this movie got.

I will admit I really love this movie. Sure, The Dark Knight and X-Men: First Class are better movies, but I still had a lot of fun with this movie.

I do believe this movie has gotten more hate than it deserves. Nicholas Cage is in my opinion the most unappreciated actor in Hollywood. I really think that guy has some talent.

This movie was supposed to be entertaining, and it is to me every time I watch it.

Since I haven't read the comics, I can't say how well it follows it, but I will say that I love the idea for the movie.

If you disagree with me, go right ahead and say you do, but I still disagree with all the hate this movie got.

This movie deserved the hate it got,as did its "sequel." Anyone who bothered to read the comics, which seems to be the minority, knows these 2 films were horrible and a disgrace to Ghost Rider's reputation. Cage looks and acts nothing like Johnny Blaze..Johnny Blaze sits around in bars drinking alcohol and brooding about his troubles, not sitting around eating jelly beans or making jokes. The biggest insult was emo Blackheart. Not ONCE did Blackheart turn into his true form..which by the way if anyone's played marvel vs capcom 2 or read the comics then you know what Blackheart REALLY looks like, though even worse they had him transform in the video game..yet not do it on the big screen? SMH. Sorry but I've never seen a film stray so far away from the comics as this one has done.

Bad acting and bad directing aside, the problem of which you must surely agree is that there simply aint enough action. Ghost Rider gets thrown away, he says something and waves his hand, the bad guy screams like a little bitch and it's all over.

That's the action.

No way Spirit of Vengeance is worse than this.

My biggest gripe with this movie isn't the directing or the acting or the complete lack of reverence to the character, (though these are all real problems) but my biggest issue is, well, the plot makes no sense.

The plot basically boils down to JB getting pissy because he got the bad end of a deal when he was a kid. The devil told him he stole his soul and he really didn't get anything out of it, but it's not like Johnny was really being tortured or anything. He couldn't die, which made him the greatest stunt man alive. Not a terrible deal so far.

Later the devil shows up again and says, "Hey, I've got a serious problem. You go wrangle up these seriously evil demons that keep killing people and I give you your soul back. You basically can't lose."
"NEEEEVEEERRRRR!"

So Johnny dedicates his life to getting back at a guy who just kinda pissed him off once when he was a kid. Later on the police round him up for a a series of murders that happened in the last two or three days, mummified bodies (a process that takes weeks usually) for the sole reason that he arrived in town around roughly the same time. So, you're in a fair-sized town in Texas and one of the biggest celebs in the country comes home from a tour. Two days later mummified bodies show up, IT MUST BE HIM! Drag him in and throw him in the drunk tank and accuse a major celeb of mass murder for no reason! Then the rest of the guys in his cell similarly beat him up simply because they recognize him. Seriously, you're entertained by this drek?

Put me down as one who finds this movie entertaining also as I like the premise. I've never read the comic book series but all I know is that the movie held my interest. Whenever I see it listed on TV, I watch it. I like Nick Cage, always liked Sam Elliott and seeing Peter Fonda back on the screen was great. This movie reminds me of that short lived TV series Brimstone, which was about another of Satan's bounty hunters too.

I have the feeling that those who didn't read Ghost Riders comics have absolutely no idea as to what they're talking about. You can't say what needs to happen for Ghost Rider if you never bothered to read the books..the "haters" didn't want a Batman Begins style GR,they wanted GR who was actually ACCURATE TO THE BOOK. If you think this film was good then you're the same kind of people who shouldn't be allowed to watch superhero films since you glorify the ones that suck

At least Spirit of Vengeance TRIED to be somewhat accurate to the comics. For starters,Cage looks nothing like Johnny Blaze nor does he act like him. Blaze has a shut out from the world attitude, and is almost like Spawn with his view towards heaven and hell

I think one can get the point that Cage looks nothing like Blaze. There was barely any action in the first GR film..a bad guy shows up,GR does one or two things and bam he's gone. Zzzzz..heck Cage didn't act as GR right. GR talks a lot more then people might think..he talks all the time in the comics. It's also sad to see how they butchered Blackheart..This is what Blackheart looks like, not some emo

I could go on and on. The haters are correct in their criticisms of the film and only those who know nothing about the comics try to tell them that they're wrong

Caligula..can you not make a post that doesn't sound incredibly stupid? LOL upset..Just because I know something about GR and actually bother to read his comics doesn't mean I'm upset or whatever it is you're trying to get at :) Kid? I'm 25,which means I'm probably older then you..But then again I shouldn't be surprised that someone like you would say such things when you have a computer screen to hide behind. Welcome to the ignore list..Kid

The problem is that ever since Batman Begins and The Dark Knight came out, people think every superhero movie has to be dark and serious. Instead of just fun and entertaining.

Well, next to the sequel this one was a masterpiece!
