Perfect depiction of a complex question

The movie sounds dumb but it perfectly depicts a complex question. Beautiful people don't necessarily have beautiful minds or souls, how ever you want to define it. Often a very pretty woman or a handsome man is dumb or has a rotten soul. We expect beautiful people to be also smart or good people, that’s why we are shocked to hear that this or that pretty girl or handsome actor is dumb or actually a very bad person in real life. In fact one if the pretty actresses in this movie is famous for being unbelievably dumb or perhaps a complete fraud because she sells fake beauty products to gullible fans. On the the other hand, Often a genius or a very good person who is worth knowing or marrying is unattractive. If we could see the minds or personalities of people we would avoid many and be attracted to many others. The movie depicts this problem.

Like I say... your hormones are very unlikely go for the people who will make you happy in the long term.

Same for your genitals.

reply

yeah because long term isnt meant to last THAT long.

But if there are children on the ground, the freedom to just wander off when the thrill is gone... is gone.

You're stuck with that person to a greater or lesser degree for the rest of your like, so choose with your brain!

reply

Yes but historically, children didn't need to stick around to their 20s! By 13 they were married and if it was a daughter, you got a nice goat, or horse out of the deal.

reply

Ah, but through much of history, like in Europe's "Middle Ages" only rich people could afford to marry their kids off at 13 with a rich dowry and instructions to breed as soon as possible! Regular folks married in their twenties, when and if they could afford to support a family.

If they didn't die of a plague or an infected cut or something. I vaguely remember that in the 19th century US, the average marriage lasted something like 10-20 years, even if divorce wasn't legal. Dying in the prime of life was just more common.

reply

If they didn't marry off, they became employees (free farm labor) instead of mooches until they graduated college with a worthless degree.

Hot is more fuckable than nice.
