Smith just looked like he was doing a bad impression

A really amateurish performance. At no point did his performance come across as natural or organic. Smith just isn't a great actor.

I recall seeing him on Oprah at the time and he made the comment about Denzel not being available when they offered him this role! I think even he knew he wasn't up to it.

Denzel is a way better actor, actually one of my favourites, but Denzel can only do Denzel mannerisms. I don't think he could play Ali in a convincing way either.

I said it then and I say it now. Will Smith doesn't look like Ali! A better actor would make you forget about the actor and be engrossed in the subject they are playing. I couldn't get past the fact that Smith was "trying" to be Ali.
