Thanks for posting this. I hated this show growing up but the rest of my family loved it so I had to endure it for years. I just found Lorelai and Rory fake or something. I know they're actors of course but there was something off about them. It felt like the show was trying extra hard to endear them to us.

I agree with Colorado Kid. I’m painfully shy and it surprised me when I learned that can come off as rude or stuck up. I was at a family/church gathering and I didn’t know anyone except my husband and his parents. He has a huge family and the gathering as a shower for both of us before we married. I was only 18 and the center of attention which I hated. I over heard my husband’s grandmother say to someone “Well she certainly doesn’t seem to appreciate this party or all the gifts. Have you even seen her smile once? When she talks you can’t even hear her.” I was shocked and so embarrassed! Even now 20+ years later I have to remind myself even if I am shy or overwhelmed I can still smile and speak kindly to people.
