Yikes

Good Cast, fun sets, and bad execution. It felt too cool for school.

Best moment: dracula in the cemetery bounding from crypt to crypt.

Most fun: Jennifer Esposito in the police station.

Worst parts: Mary's hair and last two costumes.
In the pickup shots, it was a better length for her face (when she wakes up in the Virgin Records t-shirt). In the actual film, it wasn't good. Reminded me of Robin Tunney in End of days.

This movie was just plain bad. It was cheesy, not scary, and felt more like an episode of Dawson Creek featuring kids dressed up as Vampires rather than an actual film about Vampires.

Mary was the lest attractive female in this movie. I'm supposed to believe that Dracula was more interested in that, than in Jeri Ryan (in her prime), Jennifer Esposito (in her prime) and Vitamin C (in her prime). Heck, even the no name girls standing in the aisle at the Virgin store were better looking than Mary. I don't mean that to be offensive to the actress who portrayed Mary, as I have seen her in other roles, and she is very pretty, but she didn't look good in this. Throughout the entire movie she looked like she had just rolled out of bed.

Yeah. When her hair was just a bit longer in a post production scene, it looked much nicer. It framed her face better.

I actually feel really bad for pointing that out. The fact that she looked like she just rolled out of bed was mainly the fault of the makeup team (for making her look frumpy), and the director (for not noticing). Like I said in my previous post- she IS pretty, but all the other girls are done up to the nines in this, and she isn't, and sadly it is very noticeable.

You might be surprised to learn then that Dracula 2000 is only one of maybe five movies that I've seen twice in the theater.

I thought it was a lot of fun and had a great cast. The twist at the end I also found very intriguing.

It's interesting to see what happened to Gerard Butler's career since then because no one knew who he was when this film came out.
