A line that seems to describe America today...

"Why should I trade one tyrant 3,000 miles away for 3,000 tyrants one mile away? An elected legislature can trample a man's right as easily as a king can".

It's amazing how true this statement seems today in regards to Congress. Everything we fought that war for is now gone, thanks to Congress, and the corporations that keep buying them.

"Oh my God! You put a living room where the crack den used to be!"

reply

Well said. The United States once again needs a revolution to rid itself from the tyranny within.

reply

Imagine if you guys started a rebellion, you were sucessful, and started your own country. Then a hundred years later, some of the people are upset with your government so they rebel and then start a new government of their own. Of course, a hundred years later, there is another rebellion and another government to replace the older corrupt one.

Each time there is a rebellion, the country splits in half like the confederates wanted to do to the USA during the civil war. After a few rebellion, the United States will be split up into hundreds of little countries. Is this really what you want?

reply

Thomas Jefferson said that we should have a revolution once per generation. He also said that the Constitution should be rewritten every 19 years. I don't think he meant any violence should be used. It's just that the government should be challenged on a regular basis, and the Constitution should be updated to reflect the times.

reply

ALL americans should have a "rifle" in 2016!

BUT it should be: Smoothbore - Flintlock. NOT an AR-15 design+;-)

reply

I'd like to have a Gatling gun.

---
Fowler's knots? Did you say ... fowler's knots?

reply

Your post ignores the fact that there already much more than single shot muskets already in existence at the time of the revolution. Some multi shot guns were even considered for arming the colonial regulars but we're thought to be too expensive.

reply

ALL americans should have a "rifle" in 2016!

BUT it should be: Smoothbore - Flintlock. NOT an AR-15 design+;-)

Why?

If it is because you think it would make things safer, I disagree.

Four blunderbuss flintlock smoothbores loaded with 00 buckshot and/or .50 cal ball ammo can do an insane amount of damage in a couple seconds.

reply

Back in the day they'd fire off their muskets in the beginning but since it took so long to reload the two armies would get into melee range and it would come down to bayonets, swords, and cutlasses - Braveheart type combat instead of a big firefight. The Civil War in particular was absolutely brutal. Many thousands were maimed and killed in a single battle. Huge numbers of amputations had to be done afterward, and blood loss and infections claimed more than a few of those.

No such thing as a gentle or safe war. Violent death is always horrific no matter the method.

reply

Wow. Another person who cannot contemplate reality. You are clearly retarded if that is your contention.

reply

I am not interested in owning one. But it sure does seem like liberals are making it a near necessity to be armed the way they attack people.

reply

Yeah, it's mostly liberals attacking people. You go right on believing that! Instead of spouting off about BLM and looting, go look up the number of murders committed by right wing groups compared to those on the left. Pretty lopsided, huh?

It's one thing in the Donald Trump or Joe Biden threads but why do you have to bring conservative bullshit into every discussion?

reply

terrorism is largely right wing in the usa too. all those right wing nutters with guns who just start shooting up a church or synagogue or whatever voice in their head told them that this "lefty group is taking over america!" that week

reply

Yes. It is true. It is mostly liberals attacking people. That was true even before they decided to riot in just about every liberal city since May, shoot people with red caps, tear down statues and force people in restaurants to salute BLM. Let's not forget they burned down a police station, brand new low income housing, took over parts of cities, and then had the temerity to call out others for not social distancing. LOL

reply

You're spreading blatant lies there. The vast majority of violence is right wing. The FBI's own internal reports make that crystal clear, right wing militia and white nationalist groups commit nearly all politically motivated homicides in this country and are considered a greater risk to national security than external terrorists - like Islamic extremists. Most liberal groups subscribe to non-violent civil disobedience. There are always a few nuts in any basket but no organized violence on the left. Sorry, you can't just make stuff up and state it as fact.

A fair amount of looting was actually done by organized shoplifting rings using the BLM protests as cover. Pretty easy to steal shit when the police are occupied elsewhere. And a good number of those fires were actually set by white supremacists in an effort to tar the other side and turn the protests violent. Some no doubt got away with it, but some were also sloppy enough to get caught and arrested. I'm sure you have no problem with that though.

Down on your knees supplicant! Bow your head before the Master. All hail Lord Trump! All hail Lord Trump!

Baaaaa! 🐑

reply

Well, since half the violent crimes are committed by black people and about 90% of black people are Democrat and then you toss in Antifa, OWS, New Black Panther Party and most college students, and you get about 85% of violence is committed by liberals.

reply

That's your expert analysis? My god, I'm trying to debate an imbecile here! A racist imbecile at that. This is the wrong thread for political discussions anyway. Farewell Trump groupie - I hope you enjoy seeing him taken into custody half as much as I will! 🤪

reply

No, that is theirs. When they heard Bernie talking about socialism being the cure for America and citing those countries as proof they were quick to remind him and his followers it was when they turned to free market principles their economy turned around.

reply

Ever heard of a Turing Test, Trevor? You just failed.

reply

Oh please, the only thing you fought for was to allow the greedy rich founders to start their own tax scam. The American Revolution was a sham. Founding fathers were crooks who sold America out.

reply

[deleted]

My home state, Alabama, joined together with the rest of the C.S.A in 1861 in an attempt to overthrow the U.S. government. It wasn't pretty.

reply

I wish his fam didn't get killed and he helped the brits and kicked the crap outta all those backwards hillbillies. america actually might be a healthy functioning country that doesnt treat its people like garbage. whoops sorry I mean "doesnt treat its non rich people like garbage" my bad

imagine American wasnt an oligarchical corrupt imperial corporate tool and actually stood for justice, democracy and equality. instead we got this disgusting shadow version of all that.

reply

I would rather imagine an America today without liberals. Then we would have a healthy country.

reply

lol yaa man canada, Norway, swededn, germany, Denmark, holland. all far to the left of the USA. all already have implemented things Bernie and the most progressive dems want.

all these countries are far better off than the USA by almsot every metric whether its education, life expectancy, crime rates or social mobility.

But yaa its not the corrupt power of corporations and the wealthy, its not the easy access to guns, its not the lack of help for the mentally ill, its not the anti science right wingers and underfunding education. its not the militarism.

no its "da libruls"

just stop talking please

reply

No, they were doing the things Bernie wanted but decades ago they went to the free market system, which saved their economies.

reply

"No, they were doing the things Bernie wanted but decades ago they went to the free market system, which saved their economies."

again you have NO CLUE what your re talking about. all these economies were and are mixed economies, including the USA. Its. question of what you want in the private sphere and what in the public (ie schools, roads, healthcare etc)

no universal education (or at least affordable) still is in most of these countries. universal healthcare STILL IS the system in their countries.

you dont know what your re talking about. you are just a parrot repeating what you dont know or understand clearly.

reply

You are the one who sounds like a parrot. Socialism works! You get that drilled into your heads all the time and you believe it. A decade ago, liberals were ringing the bell of socialism triumph in Venezuela. Today? They won't mention Venezuela!
You want universal health care? Two things. Get rid of the 20 million illegal aliens and freeze refugees for at least a decade. They can go to the country liberals love called China.
You do that and then we can talk about UHC. But not until then.

reply

did I say socialism? again you are confusing mixed markets with socialism. this stuff ISNT HARD. its grade 10 civics. which is too difficult for you apparently

hahaha yes canada is socialist. anything that isnt your exact version fo a mixed market is socialist and marxist.

go back to school. maybe we can crowd fund you so you dont embarrass yourself and sound so dumb next time

reply

I am not. But that's what Bernie wants. He is a self-described socialist. How could you not realize that. He points to European nations as successful socialist economies. They responded by saying their successes only came about when they turned to free market principles. And Bernie is about as crazy as they come. His ideas would not work in any way they are so far beyond reality.
Again, we need to get rid of the millions of your illegal aliens who drain our resources all over the country and we need to stop taking in refugees, who not only drain resources but are getting free room and food and money to be in the US, all at taxpayer expense. Not just taxpayer expense but money originally tagged to provide support for senior citizens healthcare.
Liberals have a lot of nerve asking for more control of healthcare after they bludgeoned a once decent system and implemented Obamacare.

reply

My electric blue dinosaur jello spins sideways. For soft is the blazing phone that cries out across the wet stars!

reply

"I am not. But that's what Bernie wants. He is a self-described socialist. How could you not realize that. "

a self described democratic socialist which even he is wrong about. I dont "realize that" excuse I actually have a basic education in political science and know what different terms means. I dont just call everything socialist or fascist.

as I said before which you either did not read or could not, Berne would be in the centre left party in almost every other democracy besides the USA. and in fact align with my own countries Conservative party on many many many issues.

its not that hes extreme left. it just that the USA is so far pulled in the corporatist right wing direction that the "centre" is moved right.

"He points to European nations as successful socialist economies"

no he points to other countries including canada who have basic social services. THIS DOES NOT MAKE THEM SOCIALIST.

you just face planted. you claim those European countries arent socialist Venezuela is. then say now they are.

" They responded by saying their successes only came about when they turned to free market principles."

LOL that's not what happened. Jesus kid educate yourself.

you are frankly embarrassing on every level. not only do you not have a basic education in political science, you just call everything socialist and use it interchangeably with mixed market economies with more social services.

either stop talking please or educate yourself

"Liberals have a lot of nerve asking for more control of healthcare after they bludgeoned a once decent system and implemented Obamacare."

LOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLL. the us healthcare was a decent system before Obamacare? wow can I get some of those drugs you are smoking?

reply

Brevity. Yes, our healthcare was very good until Obama ruined it. It's terrible now. The costs have gone way up across the board while options have decreased. We are not saving money at all. We are spending much more than ever. And that jump coincided with Obamacare. He lied about that and we knew it was all a lie.

reply

yes you wrote 12 lines. I wrote 19 (excluding your quotes)...

barely much more than yourself.. maybe check yourself mr high and mighty who doesnt even understand basic political science before opening your mouth.

hahah you re a joke. obama care is even popular among republicans now.

also American healthcare was never functional in recent years. charging someone 10x as much because they had cancer?

love how you never addressed anything else I said though. ill take that an admission you dont know what you are talking about. thanks :)

reply

Yes. I ignored all but the last part. And you are wrong. Obamacare forced millions of people off their healthcare, which Obama said would not happen. It did not save us any money at all, which Obama said would happen. And it limited our options, which Obama said would not happen. He lied in every possible way.

reply

yes Obamacare didn't roll out exactly how he said. THIS DOESNT MEAN that previous to it the healthcare system in the usa was great.

you dont know how to use logic apparently.

actually it did objectively save money. funny how republicans have stopped fighting Obamacare and even most republicans like it now. that's soooo weird...

https://www.kff.org/health-reform/poll-finding/5-charts-about-public-opinion-on-the-affordable-care-act-and-the-supreme-court/

"eight in ten (79%) said they do not want to see the ACA’s protections for people with pre-existing conditions overturned. "

its such a failure that even a majority of republicans support aspects of it.

reply

Everyone in my state hates Obamacare. It did nothing but make it worse.

reply

lol except the system already was garbage and broken. but sure it was amazing before the ACA lol. the ACA is so unpopular republicans have tried to overturn it.. oh wait they've given up because they know its popular.. fail

reply

No, it wasn't. It worked for around 80% of people. It only needed minor repairs. Not this monstrosity that ruined our healthcare. I don't think you understand how many people are now paying massive premiums with massive deductibles and copays that have more than doubled with worse coverage and less options. In some states it worked but not for most.

reply

https://news.gallup.com/poll/4708/healthcare-system.aspx

so in 2010 pre the ACA when 80% of Americans were dissatisfied with the cost it was great?

and when in 2009 again pre ACA 71% of Americans declared the US healthcare system was in crisis (20%) or had major problems (51%) is was great?

or how about since 2003 people have agreed at almsot identical rates healthcare costs have gone up. and there was no large spike after the ACA? and in fact it went down?

sorry facts trigger you :(

reply

People always are dissatisfied with cost. You had to be told that? But the cost compared to coverage today is impossibly high. So much so that people are simply going without coverage. Tell me how that is better.

reply

support in my country is at 97% for healthcare LOL.

its called using facts not your feelings. using actual facts triggered you hahah.

Yes health prices have been rising. they always rise. the ACA not only slowed the rising costs, but put a cap because some companies were charging cancer survivors 10X the normal rate.

the hilarious part is not only are you uninformed, your arguments are all in support of what the ACA did. you were just so stupid you didn't bother to research them.

lets look at the facts. although yet again like my previous post I expect them to trigger you

LOOK AT THAT! the dollar amount if the total amount in billions spent. the % is the percentage increase in spending (costs) to the American people. notice a trend Einstein?

reply

No, I notice how many people are now paying much more for less coverage. That's what I noticed. It's almost comical how people jump through hoops trying to defend Obamacare when it so clearly did none of the things Obama promised for Americans. We never saved money, we paid much more for less coverage and we didn't get to keep the plans or doctors we wants. It promise everything and delivered nothing.

reply

let me repost it Einstein

hahahhaha im "jumping through hoops" because I have not only supplied public opinion polls which triggered you, but now the hard numbers.

all you've done is give assertions after assertion after your feelings and perception of things. ive given facts

"I notice how many people are now paying much more for less coverage. That's what I noticed"

give me a study and facts on this assertion.

why do you hate facts and reality so much? you are so pathetic

reply

All you did is copy and paste something. You did nothing else. And you still can't deny Obama lied about everything. We lost our healthcare. Our options for new healthcare rose dramatically in every way with less coverage. Didn't Obama say the average family would save around $5k per year? No, it had the opposite effect.

reply

hahahahahahahahahahahhaahah by that definition I can never provide any source or facts because I have to copy and past them from the internet.

you are soo pathetic.

reply

If you like your healthcare, you can keep your healthcare. Period.
If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. Period.
Obamacare will save us $2500 in premiums per year.
Obamacare will save the average family $5500 per year.

All selling points to push Obamacare through and all were absolute lies. Anyone who has common sense knew they were lies. How were we going to add 15-20 million people onto government largess and expect the overall cost to go down? Again, we have way too many illegal aliens and refugees, who both drain the economy of resources.

reply

"dont post and copy and paste!!! facts trigger me wahhh!"

move along spazo

reply

I didn't. I typed the facts myself. Those are well established lies Obama told. If you are serious about quality affordable healthcare you need to address the millions of illegals and refugees. Period.

reply

im making fun of what you told me. but you were too slow to get it.

"wahhhh illegals!!! wash illegals!"

reply

Yes, illegal aliens are a huge drain on our economy, especially health care. The net loss is well over $100 billion per year.

reply

yes we get it crybaby. you can move along. you've been embarrassed enough

reply

Who is 'we'? You seem kind of insecure.

reply

everyone who reads your nonsense.

LOL yes im insecure because I disagree with you and actually proved multiple links. you gave nothing. move along kid

reply

I doubt anyone else cares at all. You didn't prove anything. Did Obama lie about Obamacare in every important way? Yes. Period. That's the end.

reply

no you claimed "It did not save us any money at all, " I disproved that. then you whined I gave you links LOLL. you hate facts that show you are wrong

reply

It didn't. We are spending more on healthcare for less coverage. That's why so many people despise Obamacare.

reply

SHOW ME EVIDENCE> you criied and cried because I gave you links that support my position. I get why now. you just make bad ass assertions and are mad others use facts.

reply

I already told you. Cost has increased dramatically to the point people are having to give up healthcare. That's because of Obamacare. Healthcare was expensive before Obamacare but still affordable. Maybe not in your state but it certainly is true here. People call it 'cataclysmic' coverage and good for little else.

reply

ys youve "told me"

you've made unsupported assertion after unsupported assertion. and whined when I gave actual facts to support met claims.

how convenient! go away sad crybbaby

reply

I've been more than patient with you. Time to put you on ignore. You just aren't worth it.

reply

LOOLLLLLL the minute I ask for evidence to support your claims I go on "ignore"

thanks for proving ym entire point.
