Saruman Death Scene Cut from Original

That shot of him twirling around only too be impaled on the water wheel sharply was so fucking hardcore and badass. The best scene of the whole trilogy, it was so fucking metal. Can't believe Peter Jackson cut it from the theatrical release. The extended cut is the only proper way to watch the trilogy in my opinion

The EC makes the 2nd film the best.

I will say if you ever want to show someone the trilogy for the first time, show them the short version. It’s a lot to take in for someone unfamiliar with the content.

Technically, Saruman living at that point was more true to the books, where he dies later. But since they cut the whole epilogue were he dies, it was kind of lame having no closure there in the theatrical cut.
