Am I the only one who finds Laura incredibly annoying?

I have tried many times over the years to watch this movie from start to finish and I just can't get through it because I think the role of Laura is horribly miscast. I am not familiar with the actress who plays her or any other roles she has been in, but there is zero chemistry between her and John Cusack in this film. Also the character of Laura herself just comes off as a real bitch and the actress brings no charm or endearment to her character whatsoever so I just can't get into it. Is it just me?

Is it just me?

No. Her unfaithfulness, emotional instability and utter inability to make a decision became increasingly annoying as the story progressed. Anyone who would marry her is insane.

Same, she was playing mind games until she decided who's bed was better. I was hoping he would finally get over her and start fresh.

She is not very attractive. She could be but her hair and clothes are awful.

Funny, I always focused on Rob's character development, and how he learned to grow up and focus on Laura's needs and wants.

Until this thread, it never occurred to me to look harder at Laura and holy crap you're right ... there's nothing truly redeeming about her. I guess we just have to accept that the heart wants what it wants.

If I were Rob, I'd have pursued Penny Hardwick (the college gal he dumped because she wouldn't put out).

reply

No. I couldn't stand her either.
