Who would play Dr. Christmas Jones today?

Back in 1998, when they were casting for Christmas Jones back in 1998, EON was clearly going for.a Generation X twenty something actress who was popular. To bring in the young men and PlayStation crowd. The contenders:

Natasha Henstridge: who was supposed to play Sydney Wench before she became Wai Lin when Tomorrow Never Dies was rewritten almost completely.

Tiffani Thiesen: hot off Saved By The Bell and BH 90210.

Denise Richards: hot off Starship Troopers and Wild Things.

I even read somewhere that Geri Halliwell of the Spice Girls was considered. And even Soohie Marceau herself was considered when Christmas was still French Polynesian before she was Americanized in later drafts.

Today, I think they would consider:

Amber Heard
Bella Thorne
Emilia Clarke
Emily Ratajkowski
Taylor Switt

reply

Hendstridge not being in TND is one of the great Bond travesties.

Anyway, I'd go Emmy Rossum if casting today. Or someone older like Andrea Riseborough.

There is a man...he travels fast...he has purpose...he brings violence and destruction.

reply

Agreed about the missed opportunity with Henstridge. That woman is just so beautiful. She would have nailed Christmas Jones and the character would be better liked. Although I do think Denise gets a lot of unfair flak.

reply

Margot Robbie?

reply

Exactly. Margot even looks like Denise a little. ?

reply

A foetus.

Only problem the foetus would be smarter.

reply

Denise as Dr. Jones wasn't that bad. She is actually the Clasdic Bond Girl: a ridiculously over the top sexy lady who holds her own against Bond in the field.

reply

Exactly! Richards is great as Dr. Jones!

Agreed. And she saves Bond several times over in TWINE.

1. When she opens the blast doors do he can escape from the explosion and back into the chamber.

2. When she closes said blast doors 2 seconds later to keep the fireball from following him.

3. When she risks drowning to push that red button to get him back into the sub at the end.

4. When she frees Bond from the reactor cage that Renard locked him in.

Worst Bond Girl, my ass. Go Christmas!

Margot Robbie

Eeesh emilia Clark? What a disaster thatd be. She's ok a the kaleesi but since Term Genesis she 20 lbs heavy.

Emily Ratajkowski is the hottest on your list. And since the Christmas Jones char was just a few lines I go with her!

reply

Jennifer Lawrence.

reply

J. Law would have nailed Christmas's smart and sassy vibe. Plus she'd look great in a tank top, shorts, and work boots.

reply

Testify!

reply

Either Blake Lively or Margot Robbie

reply

I haven't really seen any of their films, but I defer to your judgement.

We are teachers on sabbatical and we have just won the lottery.

reply

Neve Campbell would have been my best option to play Christmas Jones in TWINE, since she also appeared with Richard in Wild Things, and due to Campbell's fame of being a scream queen in horror films.

reply

While I like to do my best not to be obstructive and to respect the opinions of my fellow posters, I'm going to have to stick with my original choice Jennifer Lawrence.

BUT, hypothetically speaking, if Christmas Jones was being cast today and Jennifer Lawrence wasn't available, my second choice would be Natalie Dormier.

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

I think that Margot Robbie if casted right now (December 2016) would be considered too big a star, this usually does not happen in Bond films... the only time I can think they did something like that was when they brought in Halle Berry for Die Another Day (who was obviously more popular at the time than Robbie is today).

If you are looking for somebody who has a more comparable career to Richards's at the time, I would suggest:

Alexandra Daddario
Dianna Agron
Camilla Belle

reply

Margot Robbie.
Mae Whitman.

reply

"Bella Thorne"

LOL, no.

reply

Megan Fox

reply

Funny seeing so much hate for Denise Richards. I liked her.
