It would be realy great if someone could suggest any similar films like 8mm. Investigations, dark atmosphere and stuff like that.

Videodrome.
Untracable.
Hostel 1 & 2.
Vacancy.
Nekromantik 1 & 2. (This one is definitely not for mainstream audiences! sick stuff)
Se7en.
Silence of the Lambs.
Manhunter.
Red Dragon.
Hannibal.
A Serbian Film. (Definitely most not recommended but watch it at your own risk)

I see a similarity to A Walk Among the Tombstones.

Other posters have cited "Hardcore" (1979). "8MM" struck me as a melding of the plot of "Hardcore" with the style of late 90's crime thrillers like "Kiss the Girls" (1997). The modest-budgeted "Traded" (2016) takes similar material and transplants it to the Old West.
