I'm surprised nobody tried to attack them, or that Jawas didn't attempt to come near. However, the Queen's bodyguards probably kept any scavengers at bay. Chances are, Obi-Wan and everyone else made themselves useful by doing cleaning and maintenance on parts of the ship that were still working. I mean, the only thing wrong with the ship was that the hyper-drive was burned out. But like any vessel, it probably required people [and droids] to make sure all the parts were working, and everything stayed clean.

I just remembered, the fake Queen (who was actually Sabé in disguise) would have been hanging out there, pretending to be Amidala. She probably did the smart thing and stayed in the Queen's cabin, not really interacting with anybody. She and Padmé might have even been secret communication through some little talking or texting gizmos.

However, that was a huge risk letting the real Queen of Naboo run around, dressed like a peasant on a planet not known for being very civilized or safe. They were just lucky things turned out as well as they did.
