Has a LOT to answer for

This movie basically kickstarted the modern crap trend of "superheroes in spandex" movies utilising tons of CGI that plague Hollyweird to this very day. That may not be the case, but I don't give a damn what others think.

The whole "massively profitable juggernaut with dumb formulaic movies" that is the MCU was the worst thing to ever happen to the entertainment industry, and I'm only glad that the rot and the cracks are setting in, FINALLY. And the whole "M-She-U" will hopefully kill off the entire sub-section of the movie industry.

Now back to more ORIGINAL movies, PLEASE.

X-Men was made when there still was some sense in superhero movies. I don't blame Brian Singer for making good movies, I blame his less talented followers and studios who think the secret to box office records is to purchase 100 million worth of CGI.

I don't remember too much about this first X-Men movie, but I do vividly remember thinking how awesome X2 was.

I, for one, am perfectly happy if the entertainment industry makes more totally enjoyable superhero movies than serious dramas!

Real life is full of serious drama, who needs to pay to see more.

I don't find any enjoyment in constant CGI-animated fighting with cartoon physics.... but then again I've always found faked show wrestling disgusting also.

I find a great deal of enjoyment in CGI-animated movies with cartoon physics, and so do billions of others. The Marvel franchise is a monumental success because it consistently delivers what most people consider to be fun entertainment, no more, no less!

Of course, some people don't like fun.

reply

Of course all people like fun, they just don't share the same idea of what's fun...
