Why did Jane whine about the monkeys taking her boot?

Had she realized that, if they had not stolen her boot, Tarzan wouldn't have been able to catch her by locking his toes among hers and she would have fallen to her death?

With only one boot on she was forced to limp through the jungle the rest of their stay. Not good for your back!
