How did Truman vanished unnoticed?

Like he didnt know where the cameras are. And he didnt know how many of them are there. And then he vanished and they couldnt find him for a lot of time. Despite having like 500 cameras. This was not realistic and always bothered me.

You forget some important things:

1. Human factor. It was late at night and the production team was too tired to notice Truman disappearance.
2. Human factor. They didn't think to check the camera at the sea because they know about his fear of water.
3. Although, I agree it's little strange they didn't replay the footage from the cameras fast enough to seen where Truman go. It's still hard work to go through all the footage, especially considering that they didn't know at what time Truman escape and most of the cast and crew members sleeping.

BTW, you said "they couldnt find him for a lot of time" you remember how much time exactly?

Wasn't there a 500 mile dome covering the entire place? I thought that was far more unbelievable. First it would take centuries to build such a thing, and second the cost of it would be more than any show could possibly make up for.

reply

I doubt it was a 500 mile diameter dome. That would be like a sixth of the country or something.

reply

500 square miles is more realistic.

reply

Agreed. Approximately a 22 mile by 22 mile area is much more possible.
