I remember when ..

Do you remember the days in the 1990s when Wesley Snipes was a big star? He was a very versatile actor. He could play the action man in films like Drop Zone, Rising Sun, Passenger 57 and Demolition Man. He was also able to showcase his gift for comedy. He was funny in Major League and White Men Can't Jump. Snipes could also able to shine in dramatic roles like Jungle Fever. It's a shame that he developed a reputation for being difficult and his legal problems did not help either. I hope that he makes a comeback. This year has proved that an actor can come back from oblivion or DTV hell, if given the right role.

He was huge. Most of his fans where white as well. He did very well in the non woke era. In the 2000 he was deemed extremely unfriendly, he was regarded as unsympathetic, he was rude, hard to work with, a terror on set, full of hate and all around an evil negro.

That's because he didn't base his whole identity around his race and then play the victim while blaming the "colonizers" for his problems. He was just a cool dude who did his thing. People have no problem when that is the case. Same with Sigourney Weaver playing the strong female lead in the Alien movies - she did it without being an obnoxious feminist who was full of toxic misandry and giving pretentious lectures on gender equality and patriarchal oppression.

Are you referring to Brendan Fraser?

And yeah, the 90s was a great time for movies, esp. futuristic sci fi based action flicks. I remember going to this movie marathon in Brisbane, Australia in 97/98. Theater was packed and they were playing 5 movies from around 9 or 10 at night all the way till morning.

The first movie was The Peacemaker and I can't remember what the 2nd was, but the 3rd was Blade and as soon as the theme music started (right as soon as the movie begins), the whole place just went nuts! The whole atmosphere became electric, which was a complete contrast with the first 2 (and the last 2) movies. Snipes was very popular and just like Denzel, I always looked forward to watching his movies cause I'd never known him make a bad one.

P.S: You left out 'One night stand' and Money Train, 2 of his better movies.
