She just loved the Body of Brad Pitt

Doesn't matter if its the guy she met in the diner, or Death, she just wants the body.

That's the major flaw of this movie.

When you break it down, it's very true... and I don't know if they intended that to be the message of the movie or not? But clearly it was basically: if you have the body of Brad Pitt, you can be as daft, aloof, witty, charming, or douchey as you want and a hot, well-to-do woman will still fall head-over-heels for you.

It's quite funny, really.

It reminds me of "The Bishop's Wife", in which a male angel intervenes in a married couple's life, and the woman ends up quite distracted by him. The angel was played by Cary Grant, so it's obvious why she was enamored. Put a less-than-gorgeous actor in the role and it would be absurd.

She was attracted to the "real' Pitt character in the beginning of the film. One is supposed to assume, I think, that she carried this initial attraction and attached it to the guy that showed up at the dinner party unexpectedly. You know, first impressions and all.

The fact that it was revealed that he was a friend of her fathers only added to the intrigue (and yes, suspicions).

The entire film is one absurd premise anyway, it's a guilty pleasure for me because of Hopkins performance. The rest of the cast performed well in their respective roles also of course. But the film AS a film? Meh.

She liked being flirted with at the diner, but its death she actually fell in love with.

And then at the end, she loses the love of her life, and she's meant to be happy with the guy from the diner showing up?

THEY'RE TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE!

oh, but they both look like Brad Pitt, so they lived hapilly ever after! lol

ps: I still love this movie. Mainly for HOPKINS too
