I think they will, eventually. I could see it being done as an HBO movie or mini - series, much like Mildred Pierce.

I think Kate Winslet could play Charlotte, haven't figured out who could play Lolita or Humbert yet. Benedict Cumbertbatch for Humbert, maybe?

If they would do it today,they would make Humbert 100% creepy and not hot like they did in the first two movies. It would be too stereotyped.
shareThey'll make stories about relationships with these ages, but not this exact story because the story moves too slowly for today's audiences. Humbert's long, gradual decline. They don't make films like that anymore. Instead they put in one or two scenes and the audience gets it right away: he's declining. On to the next Moment. But without that decline there isn't enough in the story to make a movie.
