Anyone else thinks it iss overrated?

shareYes, just watched it and it didn't do much for me. The plot was interesting but I just didn't care about any of the characters. DeNiro was pretty good, or at least, I thought the scene where he showed his true colours when he shot Melanie was shocking, which made it good. SLJ was a bit of a cartoon character for me. I did hate him and I was glad when he was killed but it was too quick and easy for my liking. I'd have liked to see that evil git suffer a bit. I liked Max but the part was played in such a low key way, I half expected him to double cross Jackie in the end. And I can't buy Keaton as a tough guy, no matter what he is in.
That brings me to Pam Grier. I can't help but think that the only reason she was chosen for this film was because of her iconic past. I didn't mind her, but I never really liked her. Sure, SLJ's character deserved to be double crossed and killed, but was Melanie just collateral damage? Jackie might not have known SLJ would kill Melanie but she sure as hell knew how mistrustful he was of everyone, so she must have known it was likely.
When Jackie walks away at the end with the money, after causing the deaths (directly or indirectly) of three people, and putting the life of a decent man (Cherry) at risk, how is she any better, morally, than SLJ's character? Then, to top it all, she chose the money over love. I really struggled to find anything to redeem her character, or make me care whether she 'won' in the end.
