Event Horizon was completely ruined by that comic relief black guy

Seriously, that dude was *beep* annoying.

reply

I didn't mind him, but it did seem out of place. I think they should have either gone goofy or full on dark.

I think they tried to do what Aliens did with Paxton, and add some comic relief. It failed badly to say the least.

reply

Full dark. He definitely did lower the movie.

reply

Seriously?

reply

Yeah, and many people think so. He lowered my rating my rating from a 6/10 to 5/10.

reply

Does this mean you don't want something hot... Oh, never mind. I need to start making an effort not to troll people.

reply

Hot and black inside u? Lol

Lenny Henry?

Asimov was always an asshole.

Actually, he pretty damn good in this.

Agreed. I was beginning to think I was the only one who appreciated his relatability. The others were a bunch of irritated caricatures.

reply

Well smitty talks about having only his hand to use for sex in the beginning (instead of real women) lol. But Cooper cant make a sex joke?

reply

The OP should probably stick to his beloved, safe, PG-13 rated super-hero flicks.

A gory, dark horror thriller with some swearing and a couple of sex jokes seems a little too much for his delicate sensibilities.

reply

Stan didn't say anything about the swearing, sex jokes, or the dark and gory nature of the film. I think you're jumping to conclusions, kinda like how I would be if I just assumed you were the type of person who trolls YouTube comments sections with anti-"SJW" posts and stuff that is deliberately offensive. But that's just a guess.

It's possible to find a character annoying and not mind other parts of the movie. Personally, I thought Andy was a little over-the-top in Goonies, and I found John Conner pretty annoying in several parts of Terminator 2. That doesn't mean I didn't like the dark nature of both films.

reply

Actually the OP had already made another thread here called "A very tedious and annoying movie"

where has also took the time to mention the character in question. I just couldn't resist the urge to poke a little fun at this guy who comes to the message board of an original, unique film to complain about it, but a quick look at his user ratings (and his chick-magnet username) shows that he loves the endless, tedious, uninspired Marvel films that we are "treated" to every month or two.

He wasn't that bad - You always need a goof ball in the crew -

This. Look at Hudson in Aliens, he had a bunch of funny one-liners and scenes. "We got nukes, knives, SHARP STICKS!"

"I'm the ultimate badass, you do NOT wanna f-ck wit me!"Hudson,Aliens😬

reply

And Bill Paxton didn't annoy you because he was the comic relief white guy, right?

If I don't reply, you're probably on my ignore list for something I forgot already

reply

Because he was actually funny and didn't ruin the tone.
