I rolled my eyes SO many times in this movie...

Anyone else feel this way? I mean, c'mon, she had an education, but her poetry wasn't that good, and it still caused the crowd to go wild. Then when King Henry chose her out of all the other courtisans simply because of looks... she had to have been the least pretty out of the bunch. Why would he have chosen her? Sure she's pretty, but it's not like she was so amazing that he would have spotted her hidden in a crowded room.

I'm really not trying to knock her looks or Veronica as a historical figure, but I think they really didn't do her justice in this movie.

I felt like they were trying way too hard to get me emotional or something in the trial scene. If she's so educated, why would she have said that she "repented" that her only choice in life was to be a courtisan? WTF? That doesn't even make sense. She could have said "regretted"...

Catherine was much more attractive than any of the girls in that line up.

"She could have said 'regretted'"... (as opposed to "repented")

Um, it was an ecclesiastical court in the 1500's. The use of "repented" would have been appropriate, regardless of level of education. Please learn how to history. *wink*

Always difficult to appreciate poetry that has been translated from another language.
