Most depressing movie ever

Damn.

Its pretty unusual for a comedy to start off with its main protagonist, a boyscout young kid, getting his hand mutilated by a gang of thugs and end up a miserable loser and even end up a loser by the end of the movie, with a chick who will probably bleed him dry and leave him.

The only one who has a true "happy ending" is Randy Quaid. And he is literally back right where he started.

reply

Yeah, but...Blues Traveler.

reply

Woody's character definitely got a rough deal in the movie, but that happens sometimes. At least by the end he isn't as miserable as he was before he meet Ishmael.

reply

Also, Roy got Claudia at the end of the film, as well. That's something to be quite happy about ;)

reply

He overcame his depression and he ended up with a really really really hot woman. Also Ernie ended up getting his comeuppance even though it wasn’t by losing the tournament. Seemed like a pretty happy ending to me.

reply

He's a professional bowler again, and he's with the beautiful Claudia. I'd say he came out OK.

reply

It's a story of redemption, bad things happen to good people. Roy came out OK, back to his old self, but a lot wiser.

"Well, let's not start suckin' each others dicks just yet......"

reply

Roy ends up an international spokesman for Trojan condoms...that's 500,000 a meet up. He also stops drinking and gets Claudia.

The entire "trip" was Ish's form of rumspringa, ultimately he end up at square one, but his simple a$$ is just glad to be friends with both Claudia and Roy. I'd say he turned out more than okay, considering he literally had to eat rotting pu$$y to pay rent, and was a drunk literally living from paycheck to bottle.

One gay beer for my friend here, because he's gay, and one normal beer for me, since I'm normal.

no. that 500k paid once for an agreed upon amount of work.

You are literally person in the world who thinks that

It's effing hilarious from start to finish

"Bltch, what you DON'T know about me -- I can just about squeeze into the Grand xxxxing Canyon!"

reply

It did have some depressing parts. You kept feeling bad for Woody's character especially after he lost the final game and was left with nothing.

Did you watch the movie? (1) He was a pro-bowler again after proving he had the mettle to go to the final round in a major tournament; (2) he got a $500,000 deal with Trojan Condoms; (3) he got the babe, Claudia, not just her body, but her heart; and (4) he overcame alcoholism.

reply

Left with nothing? Clearly you didn't get the movie.

reply

He’s got a more positive outlook on life, he kicked his alcoholism, and he can be a bowler again. Sure that may not be your typical Hollywood happy ending but it’s a tad more realistic sometimes the underdog doesn’t win the big match
