It's all true. Happened in 1995. The only thing they changed was the dog. In real life it was a basset hound. They thought a golden retriever would be better for merchandising reasons.

The real story actually involved pornographic actresses who where hired to infect the aliens with STDs so that the US Air Force could effectively rape the aliens.


It was changed because the NSA would not let the film company reveal the US counter measures against vi(ri)le alien invasions.

So instead we got this unrealistic version, where instead of real diseases they would use a silly computer virus - as if they had any idea how the alien system was designed lol.

They were able to cover it all up because they are all-powerful. Basically, they bribed every person in he world (or killed them or threatened them, whatever), including your girlfriend.
