How come the women in the movie aren't hairy? How do they shave?

Shouldn't all the women in this movie be extremely hairy like a man? I can't imagine that razors are easy to come across. The few that exist would be very rusted by the water/salt, or so worn out as to be useless. Besides, why would keeping yourself looking good even matter in a Waterworld?

By that logic why is it important here? And clearly you've never seen a real woman, they're not generally wooly mammoths who need to be shaved all over to show skin. And finally if you think the only option for shaving is a proper razor then how do you think it was accomplished before modern technology, and why would you not point out that Kevin Costner lacks a beard? It's now occurring to me I just got trolled...you're a dick.

And regardless...springs...strings...or friction can remove hair.

A woman's body hair only becomes so coarse and thick after shaving multiple times. Don't get me wrong, some women are not as fortunate as others, but for quite a lot of women, body hair is actually very fine. They don't get as hairy as men do.

Shaving does not make hair any thicker or thinner. That's silly.
There are many ways to remove hair. We've been shaving for many, many, thousands of years. An oyster or clam shell works well. Flint works very well. Tweezers work very well. A twisted bit of thread works very well. Any piece of metal can be sharpened to a razors edge given 30 minutes or so of time.

Maybe being constantly in water makes them smooth.

Evolution? Torso, arms, and leg hair developed to protect humans from cold.

Costner's character developed webbed toes and rudimentary (fully functional?) gills supposedly to the new warmer and watery earth.

Do you WANT to watch a movie with hairy women?

reply

yes

Most women don’t get hairy like men, they have thin and transparent vellus hairs compared to terminal hairs like on men.
