Great Film but am I right...?

Watching this now. Some beautiful photography and good placement, I think it's nicely shot. I've seen it before of course, but never noticed one thing and wanted opinions.

Bruce Willis is just unconvincing here and his performance is awful... Is that just me or am I right?

reply

No it's just you I'm afraid. I think if anything this is his best performance to date.

reply

The bar is not set high...

reply

As someone who's not a fan of Willis, he gave a very solid performance here.

Can't stop the signal.

reply

Bruce Willis is most of the time one dimensional, but he does break into his Moonlighting/ Hudson Hawk characters occasionally. Because of these glimpses, I think he did not a bad job.

reply

Totally agree.

He was OK in stretches, but a few bad scenes stand out.

When he is reminiscing <sp?) about the music in the car.......that's bad acting.

That's really the worst one right there.

I like him occasionally, but I agree he was the weakest link here.

reply

I totally disagree, that was one of his best scenes. You can really see the dual pain and joy in his eyes when he's listening to Blueberry Hill. Such great acting. He's always been a very underrated actor.

reply

"Is it just me or am I right?"

You are right - it is just you.

That's the best-sounding bit of snark I could come up with, anyway.

"facts are stupid things" Ronald Reagan

reply

I have to disagree. I thought he was really good in this and it was one of his best roles overall.

reply

Agreed
Loved him in his badass action roles but he really was sympathetic and tragic here...he even got teary eyed a bunch which i hear is tough for some actors
Maybe his best!

reply

Maybe. I also liked him a lot in The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. I think it's a close call for his best role between them and 12 Monkeys.

reply

Sixth was very good
Never saw unbreakable
