In an alternate universe, where this movie made half a billion dollars and Verhoeven became the most powerful figure in Hollywood, we'd have a world where erotic thrillers are the dominant genre and it's basically mandatory for every 20 year old starlet in Hollywood to spend half of every movie stark naked with absolutely everything on display.

I get suckered into Film Noir based on the posters. Granted they are tame compared to this one but posters do matter. I find modern movie posters to be boring.
