This movie sucked.

A bunch of annoying jerks running around desperately trying to be funny, and failing miserably!
Even Robert Downey Jr. (one of my favorite actors) was not funny. And Ann Bancroft smoked like a damn chimney. Disgusting.

Awful. 5/10.

I respectfully disagree. Take another look at the movie and this time pay close attention to the supporting actors and their subtle asides. Most notably; Charles Dunning and Geraldine Chaplin. They are hilarious and make the film. I don't know how old you are so one of my favorite lines might not resonate with you, but after the fight on the front lawn the dad, (Charles Dunning) says "Thats it! I'm selling the house! I can't take the shame." If you grew up in a small town you would get the humor in that, at least.

Wow! A blast from the past! We'll have to agree to disagree on this.

Sorry, but this movie was awesome. It's not supposed to be, or even trying to be, a hilarious comedy. It's a family dramedy, with great acting, and invokes a ton of nostalgia. Not sure what you were expecting. Maybe Adam Sandler made some movies you'd enjoy.

No need to get nasty, Bobby Jo.

Nasty? I beg to differ!

When you suggested that I'd enjoy some Adam Sandler movies, that was an obvious insult, Billie Jean.

😐

What? Is there an insult implied about Sandler?
Maybe you have a subconscious anti-Sandler bias !

The first 30 minutes were good...the rest was crap.

The first 30 minutes were just okay.

I love this movie because it was date movie I had with an unrequited crush.
She whispered to me how the furnace repair person was so awkward, and I thought,
That's exactly how I feel. A regular shlub trying to do a good job.
What's wrong with that?
But I still love her and love the movie.
