Surprised that Johnny Lee Miller never got a real shot in Hollywood after this

I just re-watched this for the first time in years and it got me thinking. Hackers was arguably Angelina Jolie's breakout role, as she went on to have a very successful career in the following years, yet Miller seemed to go back to doing mostly U.K. based projects for the rest of his career. I think he did a fairly decent job in this, showing potential as an up-and-coming young actor yet seemed to never get a prominent lead role in the U.S. again. I wonder if he considers his career a disappointment or rather that he exceeded his own expectations. P.S. He played Simon "Sick Boy" Williamson in the movie Trainspotting a year later which is arguably his most famous role. Did you know that?

I cannot speak to his expectations of his career, but altough it's not "movie" Hollywood I think he was quite successful with the TV series Elementary here in the US. His interaction with Lucy Liu during the series run was quite good.

He was good in Mansfield Park, an excellent movie.
Hackers was garbage.
I remember deciding to see this movie, working in Silicon Valley at the time, and thinking it was so stupid I just got up and left and went and walked into some other forgettable BS movie.
