Anyone thought that the lover moved on

I kept wondering was he the type of man that took it as a life learning experience and may have found someone like her or used there relationship as a springboard to finding himself a wife. I would be willing to bet although he will always love her but he did find someone after her. And stayed with it this time.

reply

No I think she was the one for him. Their circumstances didn't permit them to spend the rest of their lives together but he loved her enough to name her in his will with what was left of his possessions. Robert was a very romantic man with much to give to a woman who gave her life for her husband and children. She was positively a servant to her family. With Robert she was a much-loved woman with whom he had no expectations.

reply

No, I think she was his only love.

He was most certainly a player... I mean PLAYA ?

I don't believe he was celibate after their time together. I don't though believe he was married. It probably would have been mentioned when his personal items were sent to her following his death. Although, they did only mention the items personal to them having been sent so who knows. I don't believe she would have wanted him to have been lonely. Real love isn't selfish.

reply

I don't believe he ever did. Especially since he left her his belongings in his will after he passed.

I think he got lucky that she didn't go with him. She would have been excited at first with his lifestyle but I think she would have gotten bored with it and wanted to settle down somewhere which he really wouldn't have liked. He would have ended up traveling the world and she would be cheating on him with some farmer or traveling salesman back home!

I think he may have had other women but I believe he loved Francesca. I doubt he remarried.

reply

He left his belongings to Francesca. He also had a wish to scatter his ashes over that bridge, just as she did.

Those details indicate that he didn’t exactly move on. She was his #1 gal.

You can probably assume that he mingled with other girls, lived his life, after he left. But again, in his heart, she was his lover: otherwise, he would not have given his belongs to her, nor scatter his ashes over the bridge.
