shareThis is fiction made for women. They love seeing this kind of stuff on the big screen, but if in their real life they met a guy like the one in this film they'd do one of three things:
1.) Ignore him even if he was literally on fire
2.) Call the cops and get a restraining order placed on him
3.) Mercilessly make fun of him behind his back and then eventually to his face.
After completing any of the above actions they would then move on to completing another one of the actions, and once that action is completed they would move on to the last action. Once the final action has been completed they'd convince him that killing himself was for the betterment of society.
I don't know about these days but this is sort of a fable...and Christian Slater was incredibly hot..
He also saved her from being raped and possibly worse...so big score there in getting her attention and discovering he had issues but no family or anyone to help him navigate.
So today he'd just be a "mutant retard" that stalked her but the whole saving thing is unimportant?
Maybe women like her are rare these days...but so are guys like him.
And the climate encouraged these days between the sexes is one of mistrust ..The climate between everyone different is in encouraging mistrust.

Decent guys today a NOT rare. We have simply been unfairly demonized by the media as being a part "rape culture" having "white male privilege", have been been thoroughly raked through the coals with all of this "toxic masculinity" crap and we get absolutely destroyed in divorce even if we weren't the ones who caused the divorce(75% of women cheat these days). So, what did you expect us to do? We simply gave up on dating to protect ourselves.
I don't know you. You could be a decent and kind woman, but I have only met a few decent women in my entire life. Most women these days have learned how to take manipulation to a level that was unheard of just a few decades ago. Until, all of the above attacks stop on men and divorce becomes a fair 50/50 split you will not find many decent men that are willing to date. We (myself) included are simply too terrified of the repercussions.
I don't know what's happened to you when it comes to women but I am a woman and none of these things you listed are actions I would take. I would give him a chance considering he saved me from rape and possible murder.
