Miranda must be the most STUPIDEST person in the world.

Could someone REALLY be THAT stupid? 
She's been married to Daniel for well over a decade and she CAN'T recognize him in ANY way? Spare me the "he disguised himself" CRAP. That's BULL SH!T. You're going to tell me during that 10+ year marriage she NEVER heard ANY of Daniel's goofy corny over-top-voices and impersonations ever before, not to mention, the line of work he did like voicing cartoon characters? He calls her up harassing her with those goofy voices at her work, home and CELL PHONE! And she STILL could NOT put two and two together and recognize HIM?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Hey, GENIUS, You ONLY wrote down TWO numbers for the add- your HOME NUMBER and WORK NUMBER. Didn't you suspect ANYTHING at all when your CELL phone was getting calls from the "applicants"??????? I would have ALSO thought at one point she would be familiar with Daniel's brother and his occupation of being a Hollywood makeup artist which would lead to the Mrs. Doubtfire disguise. She couldn't recognize Daniel from the actual Mrs. Doubtfire disguise? Mrs. Doubtfire's face STILL resembles Daniel and not to mention Mrs. Doubtfire is also about the same damn size!

 You can't fix STUPID!  Here's YOUR sign! 

It's a movie. Suspension of disbelief?

I'm kinda curious:how do you do those face emoticons?

I don't think that works for iPhones

It's a movie. I heard that in real life, Robbin Williams tested the believability of his costume by going into a bookstore. He did it without being recognized.

reply

Yes,I know. It says that on IMDb trivia.

reply

Other actors have done that.

reply

Ant and Dec do it all the time.

How was she supposed to figure out that it was her ex-husband Danield Hillard on the phone with all these different voices. Can't you see how great of a voice actor that Daniels is that he can call her, use different voices and she never regonzied him. If she did there would be no rest of the movie, so why do you have a problem with it? How is it goofy he worked as a voice artist at the beginning of the movie. And he was good enough to do it without blowing it and some point and start talking to her in his regular voice, which I have to assume that is how you wanted it.

You mad bro?

reply

why should I be?

reply

Robin Williams own son didn't recognize him in costume.

Daniel's brother said "Any closer and you'd be Mom." Miranda probably knew her mother in law and would have noticed the resemblance.

This was just a very poorly written character. Another problem that people don't seem to be mentioning is the way Miranda seemed not to notice or object to Mrs. Doubtfire's outrageous rudeness to her boyfriend and general rudeness whenever he was present. Movies like this are not meant to be realistic and require the "willing suspension of disbelief" but the problem here is the "willing" part. Her character and her character's behavior were not believable even in the context of a comedic movie.

Good points. I completely over looked the rudeness to Stu in front of Miranda. He really did nothing to Mrs. Doubtfire to deserve that kind of lashing. That also should have been definitely a tip off to Miranda...

Let's not forget how much women stick together, especially around the time of a divorce. She's not going to be outraged by another woman, especially an old woman saying nasty sh!t about a guy. Women really hate men around these times. Stu was kind of like a bridge to help her get through the divorce.

Get off your soapbox while I play you a tune on the tiniest violin.
