This is the type of society the Far Right wants

Puritanical bs. Reminds me of the Kevin Sorbo mentality. Everything is great, fine and terrific. We are all good lil boys and girls. We don't do anything bad.

Right wingers have been acting that way for 100 years.

You should take your head OUT of your ass before you post. I realize you were born that way, and raised to be an ignorant POS

Oh please... The OP is absolutely delusional.

Today's puritans are almost all on the left. They are the ones promoting speech codes, and attempting to restrict every aspect of life, right down to what kind of food you can eat, what kind of car you can drive, how big a house you can live in, what kind of appliances you can have in it, how hot or cold you keep the temperature, etc. etc. In short, they look a whole hell of a lot more like Cocteau in this movie than any conservative I know does.

Conservatives, as the name suggests, are about conserving the kind of society they find worth holding onto, it's values, traditions, and norms, and so on. And you know what the A number one ideal thing that most conservatives want to conserve is? It's the limited, constitutional government that our founding fathers bequeathed to us. It's the idea that that government was built around: that the freedom and the individual rights and civil liberties our citizens have, bequeathed to them by their creator, are the most important things, and are what government should not just observe, but protect and preserve.

The late sci-fi author Robert A. Heinlein summed it up pretty well:

Political tags — such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth — are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire. The former are idealists acting from highest motives for the greatest good of the greatest number. The latter are surly curmudgeons, suspicious and lacking in altruism. But they are more comfortable neighbors than the other sort.

Most conservatives, who value freedom and limited government fall into the latter category. Cocteau, in this movie, absolutely falls into the former. And so do most "progressives" today.

I think Demolition Man correctly predicted "cancel culture" and the desire to oppress free speech and that has come from the Radical left.

This is not what Captain America fights for. He's a favorite of mine in Marvel. Demolition Man got me more into reading comic books as I started reading Star Wars before Demolition Man.
