Clint vs Mike

who's side are you on? You could make a case for / against either of them. I change my mind every time I watch!

reply

Mike because Clint is the one who became an asshole towards Mike for no reason, Clint had no reason to lash out his temper at Mike and pick a fight with him, I do wish Mike would've just let it go and not carry the anger he was feeling towards Clint, although Clint is the worse character of the two by a wide margin.

reply

Definitely Mike! Was Mike’s comment stupid? Yes but, what does Clint “accomplish” by picking a fight with Mike?

reply

Being an asshole, I do wonder how Clint would've felt if Tara shunned Clint, I don't see him going off on her.

reply

Who was Tara? I don’t recall her name coming up.

reply

The girl who Clint was flirting with before Mike pours beer on his head.

reply

Oh, thanks.

reply

would have been his first Tara too

reply

I used to think Clint said I've never met a terror before, you're my first.

reply

that's OK, I thought he was saying "terra", like it was the name of some Druid cult that she was part of

reply

mike was annoying & whiny, geeks don't belong at drunken pasture parties. that said, i always thought mike should have followed up that first punch with some kicks. him getting up crying is what everyone will have remembered.

reply

I do wish Mike would've kept on beating the crap out of Clint after punching him, I do notice Mike suffered a breakdown after getting beaten up by Clint, I liked how both Pink and Wooderson came to Mike's aid while not retaliating against Clint, I don't get why Clint was a far more likable character when he was around Wooderson than he was with Mike, if Clint was being an asshole towards Wooderson he at least wasn't such a hateful character in that scene.

It goes back to what he'd said to Tony and...can't remember the redhead's name...earlier - despite having probably never been to one of these gatherings before, Mike thought he knew what would happen - that the fight would be broken up before any damage could be done. When he hears the footsteps behind him (of people crowding round to watch the event) he must think great, plan's working. Then the footsteps stop. When Clint gets back up you actually see Mike turn round hoping someone's coming to break it up (like Pink came along earlier to stop Clint just before he could get violent - this time though Pink is too far away and can't react until it's too late).
Then, his plan B is to "play d-fence" until it does get broken up. Again, in his naivety, he must have thought Queensbury Rules applied and he'd just have to try to dodge or block Clint's punches. Hard to play defence though when someone grounds and pounds you!
If he'd known that's how it would play out, he would have carried on attacking while Clint was on the ground. Or not hit him in the first place. Or hit him and run away.
