Poor Frank!

After mercilessly gunning down poor Brett and Evan

They take Frank too!

After he rescued badly wounded Evan.

Frank's a hero! I skip the scene where he dies.

reply

Yea it is very sad and distressing to watch, even now. Frank was such a nice, good guy.

reply

He was a soldier with that slick hand-off tho.

Renny Harlin is such a psycho, remember that passenger jet in Die Hard 2?

reply

yes. his film are very cold and mean spirits, but kick ass at same time!!!

reply

Frank was a sadistic manic. Did you see the look on his face when Sarah fell? It was pure delight!

reply

Hey, he’s an old dude - those guys get boners over all sorts of things. Have some compassion.

reply

This is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine! I absolutely love this movie!!

Frank was definitely a great guy in this movie and it was terrible to see him die!

reply

The film spent plenty of time coping with the death of Sarah, who died in a climbing accident. Frank was a warm-hearted old geezer who got mercilessly machine-gunned to death and his sadistic murder is given no reflection whatsoever.

You’d think Hal would mention it to Gabe, or maybe Jessie would have something to say about it. But no, our surviving heroes are all jokes and smiles at the end, completely ignoring the brutal murder of their friends Frank and Brett (and the last we hear of Evan he’s in hospital ‘in critical condition’)

No wonder the film is called Only The Strong Survive in France.
