I know everybody loved Simone but I always though his character was very lackluster. Nothing against Jimmy Smits, he's an excellent actor. It's the character I'm talking about. I never really got into them much and I skip those when watching episodes now. John Kelly and Danny Sorenson were the best by far! I hated David Caruso in CSI but I though he was great on NYPD Blue. He has a few good movies too. Ricky Schroder was also great. He was very energetic, and got the job done. Always great to watch the first and sixth seasons. The later seasons are very good too, but I think the 1st and 6th are the best.

Simone hands down. Seasons 2-5 are definite NYPD Blue.

Kelly, the guy you want on your team
Clark, well rounded, mostly likable
Simone, a little too boys club
Sorensen, too emotional, unstable and weird.

Thank God - Back when the series was aired , I was unable to watch because of my job. I use a digital antenna where I live now in the mountains between Durango and Pagosa Springs Colorado. One of my channels has NYPD Blue in syndication and I am able to watch it in its entirety from first season - while the show is great , I couldn't wait til Caruso's last episode - he is Sipowicz's worst partner - he really sucked as Kelly - while the show was enjoyable to watch overall , Caruso was never believable as the character he was portraying , Imo
