does anyone feel like no one remembers or knows about this movie? i honestly feel like 90% of people i ask about this film have no idea that it exists.

Director Ron Howard was on the biggest popular roll of his career, with a series of successful films, including 'Backdraft' and 'Apollo 13'. 'Far and Away' earned 135 million dollars at the box office, which at that time was not chump change.
I suggest that the people you have asked about this are very young, or haven't seen very many movies. At least not ones made before 1993.
This movie stars Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. It was directed by Ron Howard. It was scored by John Williams. And people still didn't care much about it even back then.
shareHonestly, nobody liked it all that much back in the day, when Cruise was a huge star and Kidman was hot shit. It wasn't that good a movie.
And now Cruise is dead out of fashion, and so are movies about white people participating in mass land grabs. I don't expect a revival of interest.
I don't remember watching it back then and just saw it on Amazon Prime. Completely forgot about it.
