Was Martin Gay?

I watched the movie and Martin seemed to come off as someone who did not trust women but deeply cared for Andy. It felt as if he had a crush on Andy and was angered that he had sex with Celia not because it was Celia but because he had slept with a woman. Crushing his feelings towards Andy.

Maybe in just weird.

I think he liked the attention from Celia but also liked the power. He was jealous of losing her and she only slept with Andy because she wanted to hurt him.

Probably. It reminded me on The Way He Looks where the blind teenager fall in love with friend who helped him.

I kind of got a little sense that Martin may be gay, but it was hard to tell as well because Martin and Celia both seemed to hate each other. The only time that Celia was kind to Martin was on their date which he seemed to enjoy, though he is quick to ask for the picture after the concert. It's clear that Celia was obsessed with Martin and I doubt she truly loved him and only loved him as a desirable object which would only last until she got what she wanted. It seems Martin is just not interested in HER, but it's not clear if he is not attracted to other woman. He almost has sex with her because, well he has never been intimate or at least we presume he has not, but I don't think he rejects her because he is gay, I think he rejects her because he dislikes her in particular, not because she is a woman.

He also has a distrust for woman because of his mother, who we find out, did not lie to him as he always thought. As to why he takes to Andy as a friend so quickly, it might be because he is a man, but it's unclear at least to me, if he had romantic feelings for Andy. I think he was upset about Andy sleeping with Celia because of his utter dislike of Celia which Andy knew about and then betrayed his trust by sleeping with her.
