When Kevin Costner says "We won't be making that other deal"--

Was he talking about The Bodyguard? I wonder if Madonna threw her hat in the ring for that. Seems likely.

reply

I think it may be. That's what came in my head.

reply

I think he just meant an after party or something. She was in the running for The Bodyguard but it wasn't until this movie came out and he saw her mock him that she was crossed off the list.

Too Far: Back when this permanent A+ list singer was just getting some fame, this permanent A+ list mostly move actor who is an Oscar winner suddenly showed an interest in casting her in a movie. Because of who he was, she took the meeting which was dinner. All through dinner she could tell he was more interested in sex with her than any movie. He tried to make a move after dinner, but she turned him down. Fast forward six or nine months and she is a little more famous and he had another great year. Our actor sends a gift to the singer of a car. A very expensive car. He then asks her out again under the pretense of another casting opportunity. This time, he hosts the dinner at his home and says there will be multiple couples there. Nope. Just him. She knows what is going to happen. She never called it rape or even sexual assault, because she did say yes. She called it the worst night of her life. She never spoke to the actor again. Hated him. He would force her to confront him though by having his publicists leak casting rumors that she was going to be in his next project. So, of course reporters would ask her about it and she would have to relive that night all over again. Madonna/Kevin Costner (Kevin Costner Forgives Madonna for Truth or Dare Diss)

Fame: Back in the 90's, a screenwriter and his writing partner had a meeting at the home of this married A+ list mostly movie actor (Kevin Costner). He is permanently A list now, but back when this happened was arguably the biggest actor on the planet, even if the one named singer (Madonna) didn't seem to care for him much. The two writers are let inside, and wait near the front entrance. After a while, our actor comes down the stairs, wearing only a bathrobe and nothing beneath. He talks to them, takes a copy of the script, and discusses some story points. While they're chatting, two blonde models, wearing next to nothing, walk down the stairs. Our actor doesn't really acknowledge them. They walk out the front door. The actor keeps chatting. A car pulls up out the front. The screenwriters hear car doors open and shut, and the car driving off. They keep talking to the actor. While they're chatting, two new women, both of whom look like models, walk into the front door. They walk past the actor and the screenwriters, and up the stairs. Our actor, still wearing his bathrobe, says to the guys, "Okay, thanks for all this, I'll see you at the next meeting in a week or two", and walks back up the stairs following the women. The two screenwriters let themselves out, and walk off to their car. Kevin Costner/Madonna

It's good to be the king?

Madonna threw her hat in the ring for everything back then. She even wanted to remake Casablanca.

reply

God that would have been awful. I wonder who they had in mind for Rick?

reply

I think she got laughed at. She was at best an average singer who got very lucky. She was a terrible actress.

"A studio source says, "She is still determined to make it in the movies. She and her representatives have been touting around a project which is a remake of Casablanca. The reception has been lukewarm to say the least. No one can understand why she wants to redo what many people consider the greatest film of all time".

Oh wow that was when she was aged 50, before reading the article I presumed it was in the 90's around the time of Truth Or Dare.

reply

Yeah I actually thought I heard the story earlier than 2008 as well. But she does like to think she can do everything anyway.

reply

It makes it worse thinking she'd want to film it in 2008 somehow. So glad this never happened.
