The reason to watch this

There are good shows, there are energetic shows, there are even colorful shows (I know some critters hate colors for some reason, but I love them), there are good stories, good books and TV shows, there's a lot of entertainment to be had.

If you compare the best stuff to this show, why would you choose THIS show of everything else available?

For me, back in the day, the main reason was that it was aired pretty darn late at night and I had nothing else to do - TV was a luxury for me, so almost -anything- seemed interesting. It seemed amazing to be able to use a computer while also being able to watch a television at the same time.

There weren't many channels or shows on TV, so anything relatively entertaining got my eye.

The female actress seemed eye-pleasing as well, and the guy seemed somewhat charismatic, and of course, I loved the colors, but that seemed normal at the time.

I loved how they solved the crime by talking and always figured out something interesting and the story progressed nicely, while the main characters always had some kind of weird and funny jabs at each other ("You used to order a salad, now you EAT!"), although the sexual tension was annoying - I was always expecting the characters to boink, but they never did (I think they did have some episodes that explored this, though, can't really remember).

Now that I look at this show, I see the lovely colors, somewhat interesting atmosphere, but she doesn't seem so pretty anymore (visiting Asia and seeing actual beauties has this kind of effect), he doesn't have that much charisma, the show seems childish and ridiculous (not as bad as Ally McBeal, though), and I can't see anything interesting about this show compared to so many better ones. The jokes are not that funny, the serious stuff is boring, the stories are stupid, the discussions plod along slowly, SO MUCH TALKING that goes nowhere, and so on.

I won't even touch on the typical misandry, that's the core of so many shows.. at least women do get punched in the face, which is rare to see.

The intro 'song' is even worse than 'Equalizer' - no melody whatsoever, and the chords are just some kind of 'atmosphere stuff, there's no proper structure.

The intro itself couldn't be more ridiculous, it shows nothing but 'cool spy scenes' one after another without any kind of coherence to it - a close up of a camera, a quick flick of a knife, a briefcase changes hands, a chase, a champagne glass, someone in stockings (to justify the pun in the title?), and everything either badly lit or weird angles or both, and then lots of crossfades..

It's like some idiot's 'artistic film project' they wanted to make look 'as cool as possible' while showing nothing signifigant..

..and yet, SOMEHOW, back in the day, it kinda worked, it created an interesting 'midnight atmosphere' - you were supposed to be asleep, and yet, against all rules, you were still awake, doing interesting things when other people were sleeping.

The reason to watch this these days.. I am not sure there is one.

Kapture of course.

Visually, it's a great flashback to the 90s, but also, it reminds of a time when shows could still be silly and not too pretentious. It's a good show to have on in the background when you've got some time to kill.
