he became the governor of California

True story.

reply

I think he definitely became a teacher. He seemed to love being a teacher more than being a cop. The principal told him he was a very good teacher and he was. You could tell how much being a teacher changed him. Phoebe noticed that it had even softened Kimble up. He had a great job there, all of the kids loved him, and he had a second chance at a family with Joyce and Dominic. Being a cop might've played a role in Kimble losing his wife and son. I always figured that he was so involved in his job as a cop that he had no time for them. Kimble thought of nothing for years accept nailing Crisp. In the end, he got Crisp. I say he retired from being a cop to settle down and he stayed in Astoria to continue being a teacher. He went from Detective John Kimble, the hard ass cop, to the lovable Mr. Kimble, teacher and family man.

reply

No he became the cop in End of Days.

Cardboard Box is the Future.

That, and from people I have known who were married to cops, a lot bring the job home and think they still have cop "authority" at home.

reply

He was likely not qualified to be a full-time teacher. Teachers typically need at least a BA and most police dept.s only require a high school diploma, MAYBE an associate's. He would probably need to go back to school for 2-4 years to be a teacher.

reply

Back then I am pretty sure you could be a teacher without a college degree.

reply

A college degree and the appropriate teaching certificate would have been required. There was a time when K-12 certificates were common, but in the 90's recent graduates would have earned a certificate for preschool through 3rd grade, maybe? I'm guess on the exact grade, but it would have been an early childhood certificate.

I received my teaching certificate in 1995, and it was for grades 6 through 12. I was one of the last ones to get one, as they soon changed it to either 6-9 or 9-12.

reply

I guess in that case, the movie is unrealistic.

reply

The funny thing is that he’s not really a teacher, ‘teaching’ kindergarten is more like intensive babysitting.

Funny to contrast his shot-gun wielding, stubbled badass cop at the beginning becoming… a babysitter, and loving it enough to quit blowing away suspects and start his new life as a professional babysitter in a small rural town.

reply

Way to insult thousands of kindergarten teachers!

reply

Kindergarten ‘teachers’

reply

Believe it or not when my little sister was in Kindergarten in 1998, they did math problems out of a mathbook and read books. Apparently back then and today they are expected to already know their numbers and letters. It wasn't like that when I was in Kindergarten about a year after this movie came out but it changed drastically. At least where I live in Illinois.

reply

Exactly. The ‘school’ is no longer a place to learn anything of value, it’s a place to get indoctrinated by Leftist ‘teachers’, or in the case of Kindergarten - babysat all day.

reply

So sad when people openly display their ignorance of education and their disrespect towards teachers. You obviously do not value education.

reply

Oh I’m a huge fan of education and proper teachers, it’s just that public schools and universities make you dumber than when you entered and indoctrinate kids with woke BS, except in those very few institutions that have outlawed that shit.

Not that any of that is particularly relevant here since we’re talking about Kindergarten, which is effectively babysitting.

reply

Most of the people who insist that schools indoctrinate are really just feeling threatened. They are complaining that students are learning things that contradict the small world their parents want them to stay in.

Most of the people who complain about education are not educated themselves. They are insecure and don't want people to think that they are not intelligent. So they boast about how incompetent schools are and insist that no one really needs to get an education.

Insulting educators is really just a defense mechanism. You're hoping people will think you're intelligent and won't see past the bs you're spewing.

reply

Err, no, people are legit concerned about the complete ideological capture of the education system by the radical Left and their insane woke agenda which includes teaching underage kids about degenerate sexual activity and exposing kids to sexual predators.

They are insecure are don't want people to think that they are not intelligent. So the boast about how incompetent schools are…

🤣 I don’t think you’re in a position to determine intelligence.

reply

Sounds like you're just repeating Fox News talking points. Do you have anything of actual substance to contribute?

It's really difficult to take you seriously for accusing universities of indoctrination, since the students are adults and are quite capable of speaking up and thinking for themselves. University professors do tend to challenge students to seek knowledge, ask questions, listen critically to experts, reevaluate what they have previously learned, apply new experiences, etc. In other words, become life-long learners who never assume they are done learning. Most conservatives feel threatened by this because they generally can't back up their convictions with any actual evidence.

Your accusation about "degenerate sexual activity" and "sexual predators" is most likely a fear that your little son/daughter might be taught that some of his/her classmates have 2 mommies or 2 daddies.

By the way, congratulations on finding my 2 typos. I didn't realize a person had to be free from ever making a mistake in order to be considered intelligent in your opinion, but now I know. See, you learn something new every day! (If you are willing to learn.)

reply

The woke cult demands that you dismiss any dissent as a result of watching ‘Fox News’, very predictable and weak. Everything I have asserted is demonstrably accurate, whereas all you’re doing is regurgitating the woke cultist playbook. Fail.

It's really difficult to take you seriously for accusing universities of indoctrination…

That’s a whole load of bullshit and you know it. Universities have been completely ideologically captured by the radical Left, who have systematically fired/persecuted any professors who are insufficiently Left wing and of course won’t hire anyone who isn’t a member of the cult. You can check this by looking at recent stats of professors and their political leanings.

University is now a place you go to get indoctrinated, not educated, except in a few cases like medicine and other professions requiring extensive training, but even then wokism is trying to infect those areas.

You’re not open minded, nor are you interested in education, you’re a braindead cultist who attacks anyone who call’s out your cult.

Your accusation about "degenerate sexual activity" and "sexual predators" is most likely…

You’ve now revealed yourself as a paedophile apologist. Also notice how you impulsively try to pathologise anyone who reasonably objects to your cult and it’s attempts to predate on children. Disgusting.

reply

Your definition of "woke" is anything you don't agree with. Your definition of "indoctrination" is anything that challenges your previously held convictions, including proof that you are simply wrong.

You are declaring that there are two ways of doing everything, your way and the wrong way.

There's no room for discussion. There's no room for learning. There's no room for growth.

You have announced yourself to be the emperor of the world!!! But no one is willing to bow down to you, and you are left looking around, wondering why no one is following you.

Look at this rampant straw-manning, trying to dictate what I supposedly mean when I use certain words. Authoritarian, obnoxious twat. I use words properly, your made up meanings are worthless. Not a flattering picture you’re painting of yourself here.

You are declaring that there are two ways of doing everything, your way and the wrong way.

Meaningless generalisation. Be specific.

There's no room for discussion. There's no room for learning. There's no room for growth.

100% projection.

You have announced yourself to be the emperor of the world!!! But no one is willing to bow down to you, and you are left looking around, wondering why no one is following you.

Unlike you, I don’t want anyone to ‘follow’ me because I’m not an authoritarian cunt and I don’t care what other people think about me, I only care about telling the truth. Your pathetic attacks only serve to reveal your epic stupidity and disgusting personality.

reply

It's funny, it's quite obvious that I'm right, but you're calling me all kinds of names to try to discredit me. Yet, you have done nothing to explain why anything I said is inaccurate.

reply

Of course it’s ‘obvious’ to you - the cult demands the total surrender of your critical faculties and complete embrace of its insane ideas. You are just another sad victim of the Woke cult.

anything I said is in accurate.

Not the brightest crayon in the box, are you? 🤣 No wonder you were so easily duped by the radical Left.

reply

You're cute :-) You don't have a clue what you're talking about, but I'm guessing you're cute.

reply

Yep, there’s that sexual perversion right on cue 🤦🏻‍♂️🤢

reply

Oh my gosh! That is hilarious! I'm laughing so hard I almost spit coffee all over my computer!

Thank you for that. What a great way to start my morning :-)

reply

When you’ve publicly humiliated yourself as irreparably as you have here I guess there’s no other choice but to laugh.

You tried to weigh in with your obnoxious, braindead, cultish posts and realising you had nothing of substance to offer were quickly reduced to a cackling idiot 🤦🏻‍♂️

I’m glad you went back and corrected your stupid spelling errors after I pointed them out - hey, I guess you did learn something after all 👍🏻

reply

Oh, Don Quixote, you’re just as cute as a button. Have fun battling those giants.

reply

I’m just glad I got you to fix your spelling, at least you learned something here.

I also notice you’ve stopped even trying to argue your moronic point because you’ve realised how wrong you were the whole time.

This has been a real education for you.

reply

Clearly the irony of you appointing yourself as someone capable of determining intelligence while making basic bitch spelling errors in the same sentence is lost on you - you’re a case study in Dunning-Kruger. You’re not doing well here.

reply

He didn't have a teaching degree, so he went back to being a cop, and maybe he kept an eye out for openings in the Astoria PD, and moved there when he could. Why not, it's a lovely little town, I'd consider moving there myself if they had work in my field!

Or maybe, when he was older, he taught at a police academy...

reply

Or he died in a shootout 2 years later.

reply

NEVER! No bullet ever touches an Action Hero, their plot armor is better than kevlar!

I say he went back to Astoria, became a local cop, married that teacher gal, and had to deal with a stepson who was growing up to be a clone of his old arch-enemy.

reply

He stayed on as the kindergarten teacher.

As others have pointed out, he was not actually qualified to do so. In order to be employed as a teacher, one must have (minimum) a bachelor's degree and a teaching certificate (for the appropriate grade level). However, as this is a fictional movie, it was a very sweet ending.

reply

Yeah, except the kindergarten teacher that he's replacing. This lady's going to get the boot and there she is clapping and cheering at Kimble's return. Dumb broad.
